West Texas District Family,
We’re excited to announce that our WTD Mission Trip is headed to EL SALVADOR in January 2027!
As many of you heard at District Assembly, we originally planned to travel to the Philippines. After airfare increased by more than $500 per person, we began looking for another opportunity that would allow us to keep an international trip affordable and still take a team from across our district.
And we are excited about where God has opened the door!
EL SALVADOR 2027
Anticipated Dates: January 22–30, 2027
Estimated Cost: Approximately $1,500 per person
Pastors Steve and Amanda Pettit plan to lead the trip, and as former missionaries to El Salvador, we can tell you firsthand that getting to know the beautiful people of El Salvador will leave an impact on you long after the trip is over.
Our commitment in missions has always been to invest in people over projects, because what we build matters, but the relationships we build matter even more.
So alongside our friend Pastor Juan Campos, District Superintendent of the Central District of El Salvador, we are putting together a week centered on serving, encouraging, and building relationships with people and local churches.
Our week will include compassionate ministry, children’s outreach, evangelism, hands-on projects, and working alongside churches that could really use the encouragement and love of their brothers and sisters in Christ. We’ll also build in a tourism day and evening to experience some of the beauty and culture of El Salvador together.
The details are still being finalized, but we anticipate the dates, cost, and plans to remain very close to what we’re sharing here. The estimated $1,500 cost will include airfare from DFW, hotel lodging, meals, and in-country transportation.
